Michael Wysession, Ph.D., Author

Michael E. Wysession, Ph.D. is the Professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. Michael is an author on more than 100 science and science education publications and was awarded the prestigious NSF Presidential Faculty Fellowship and Packard Foundation Fellowship.

Michael Padilla, Ph.D., Author

Michael J. Padilla, Ph.D. is a Professor Emeritus, Eugene P. Moore School of Education at Clemson University. Michael taught science in middle and secondary schools, has more than 30 years of experience educating middle grades science teachers.

He served as Principal Investigator on numerous National Science Foundation (NSF) and U.S. DOE grants and is a past president of the NSTA.

An internationally renowned marine ecologist, specializing in sharks, other large marine animals, and the application of new technologies to explore animal behavior, Mike has hosted and produced dozens of nationally-distributed science-based education video projects. Biologist turned filmmaker, Patrick has conducted scientific research around the world. He specializes in science programming and educational media. His Emmy Award winning work has been seen on numerous networks including ABC, Nat Geo, PBS, Discovery Channel, to name a few.

He has produced over five hundred educational videos ranging from elementary science topics, high school biology and chemistry, to middle and high school math. elevateScience® builds science literacy through a combination of printed texts, eTexts, activity cards, lab kits, maker crates, and other materials. Some texts are also available in Spanish.
